just wanted to know if it would be a bad idea to update the phone after i debranded it?

SEUS should work fine with it. As lons as the program you were using to debrand changed the CDA...

Most of us don't use seus after you learn to flash a phone... The only real bennie if that on a big update you wont loose any data in the phone with seus. BUT I don't think seus ever updates the FS in the phone.. Just the Firmware... -- Another plus for doing it your self.,

There has been posts on other forums that SEUS is now upgrading some DB2020 phones to CID53. If that happens, you won't be able to apply any patches to the w580.

you can, but theres a new twist now. IT may update you to CID 53 and thats bad... If you want new firmware just update it yourself. -- Read my sig.

Hi

I have debranded and unlocked my phone using this ite....so THANK YOU TO EVERYONE ON HOWARD FORUM FOR THERE INSTRUCTIONS.

What I would like to know is: When I put in a new sim card...each time I get a message something like downloading settings, I think for MMS and WAP

Do i want this to take place or will it lock the phone to that sim or should I let it happen for each sim I put in the phone?

Any advice would be great.

DON'T DO IT!!!!!

I did it after de-branding, and now want to add Flash menus and am stuck - when CID53 was loaded, I can no longer use any of the tools... now I have to wait for the new version of XS++ to come out, and *pray* it has support for CID53

use farmanager with the jdflasher plugin for CID53. That will get you back in.
