Whats up with the Sidekick IDs? Tmobile is apparently sold out in all of their stores, will they ever restock, or is it discontinued?

I was gonna ask too.

my sister is pretty excited about getting one for her upgrade in early April.

I don't how I would break the news to her if it's discontinued

She wanted a cheap SK so she could also get a digital camera.

But I haven't called the local stores to see if they got any. There's got to be one somewhere nearby :/

They still sell them, i work at a Best Buy Mobile and we just got some in.

They are just out of stock for now. They are available at BestBuy, like ericg1840 said.

The one at Best Buy Mobile, at least in my territory, are prepaid ones. You can use them as post-paid, but you don't need to sign a contract to buy it and there is no "upgrade" discount.

Well it is a lot cheaper than the other sidekicks... Some people work places where they cant have a camera on their phone. And other reasons im sure.

Because for 100 dollars on a 1-year contract, 50 on a 2-year contract, and with GPRS with a provider who's EDGE network isn't the best and not much faster than GPRS it's worth it.

Take it for what its worth, but I just talked with a rep at a Tmo store and asked if they had any SK-IDs in stock and he said no stores had them, they're being discontinued, too buggy, he said. (shrug)

But I will call around...were the IDs that buggy, or problematic??

I've seen the sidekick 3 for $49.99 with a 2 year. It would make sense If they got rid of it.

I havnt really heard of problems with them. I had one for a while and it worked like a charm.

I miss my I.d ,I liked it better than my sk3. It didn't lag and it was as fast or even faster (at times) than my sk3 while browsing the web. The slide is by far the fastest sk I've had, both os and web. There's rumors of a possible new id but those are rumors.

a woman at the tmo store said the same thing, that they're being discontinued, but i didn't really believe her because she immediatly pointed me to the LX which is clearly way out of my price range. at first i thought she was just trying to get a higher sale, but maybe she was telling the truth.

a sidekick ID 2 would be nice though.

From what I was told about the ID's is they have stopped production on them, and right now they are trying to get rid of what they do have in the factories. Also I has been told that if you have the insurance on the phones, replacement is free, and once they run out of the ID they will replace the phone with an LX free of charge. I believe them when they say it because the woman i dealt with didn't try to push the LX on us, especially when she was informed that $$$ is short.
