w810i tweaks - best method to use today

I'm hoping someone can throw me a bone here and clarify a little of my confusion. In all my research it seems there's been somewhat of an evolution for modifying the w810i, and I'd like to make sure I pick the easiest/safest way to do it.

What I want to do:
Essentially unlock the hidden features without a full debrand, similar to Da_G's guide he's written up.

The few features I really want:
* Louder earpiece volume, but not deafening or crackling.
* Flash lite menus, sweeeeeet.
* Activity menu.

Pretty simple really, I'll maybe entertain the idea of camera drivers later. Anyhoo, should I still follow Da_G's guide, or use XS++ per some of the nse-se forums?

Any clarification is much appreciated.

Da_g 's guide is pretty good. Follow that, but I dont think you have to flash the "fake main" with XS any more. Just use a newer version of the tools he has listed in that guide. like far + JDFLASHER or the newest SEFP plug in.

But the fake main part is the only thing that went away. Its a great guide. If you do use it post questions in there. Ill try to help out, but DA_G jumped ship and got him a blackjack or something a while back so i does not support that thread any more.
