SE phones worth buying

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

HI
Are there any phones that are worth buying on the sonystyle website? I was looking at P1i (no edge). K850 (don't like the buttons). How come the other SE phones are not available for sale on the US Website?
I'd like something that has edge and eventualy would work when TMo 3G comes out. Tethering is also important.

All input greatly appreciated.

Wirelessly posted (HP 211 and/or nokia N73: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows CE; IEMobile 7.7))

K790 is a great phone, it's also great for tethering
you can either in DUN or PAN mode

I just purchased the W580i from them and it is a great little phone and the price was right,I really like the walkman player and the camera isn't bad either. The build is solid and as for the key pad problem, well I have been testing it for the last four days to see if I could crack a key and it has not happened and anyway the sony support told me that it would be repaired for free if it ever happened and the warranty would be extended for the period of time that they had it.I like it better than any of the Nokia's that I have had!!!! As for the 3G part there are NO SE Phones that will be compatable with the 1700/2100 that T-mobile will be useing, released yet or shall I say none that I know of personally and I check around everyday to see if I have missed something, that new X1 is suppose to be but that one is still a ways off and probably will cost you a chunk of money when it does finally appear!!!

simple.
the w810i.
started the whole movement.
also very cheap and has a great feature set. Quadband also so you shouldnt get a reception problem.

I like both of them. How come there are only a few on their website?

If you could hold off I would wait for the W760i because it not only has a better camera but it has built in GPS and the rumor is that it maybe coming to T-mobile but I would buy it unlocked and it should have the t-mobile 3g since it is a 3g phone,I plan on getting it anyway because it is a cool little phone. Also the 810i does not support A2DP bluetooth and that is a deal killer because I do not like wired headphones!!!!!! http://www.cellphonesignal.com/t-mo...e-s-lineup.html

As a added note I just got off of the phone with Sony Style and Sony Ericsson and asked why they only have a few phones on there and I was told that they only put their top sellers on there and that not only means phones but colors of phones because I found out that the W580i also comes in Green but you cannot purchase the Black or Green on Sony Style at all. And when I asked Sony Ericsson if I could purchase directly from them they told me I could only purchase from Sony Style and that was it.So that is why so few phones on the web site!!!!

about W580, I have S500i
sound is rather good and loud (earpiece, speakerphone, walkman)
though it's NOT Walkman, the sound is pretty good
the only rant is the build is not that reliable (and I read good amount of reviews that the keypad cracks, though I seldom use it)

If you read my first post I covered the key pad problem and what Sony told me about it.

I must agree. I miss my w810i a lot, as it was the first SE I ever owned...and, if it weren't for the horribly low earpiece volume, I would probably be using it to this day.

Excellent build quality, great reception, good camera w/autofocus...great phone and a great value. I personally think, dollar for dollar...the best Sony Ericsson phone to date!

Hmmmmm...this is making me think of buying another one!

you can buy it for around $200
it's simply a steal
too bad it doesn't have realplayer like newer SE models
the next model, C702, will be highly anticipated mid model, which is supposed to be better than W810

the ONLY resaon I got rid of my w810i was no a2dp, that phone was amazing, since I needed A2DP I found the closes thing to the w810i that had it, the w610i. That would be my recomendation, it's a killer phone, I just got my new w910i in the mail today, but might sell and keep my w610i, it is a really good phone.

Is there a way to increase the earpiece volume of the W810?

I've been thinking about getting another one, because I really liked that phone too... but the earpiece volume was pretty low as I remember it...

Anyone know a good place to get one? Most of the online stores I see still want $200 for it, which is too much IMHO.
