NJ 3G islands

If you look at the NJ 3G map, you see its like Hawaii, little islands of coverage. Is there a known timeframe to when the space between is completed. It seems ATT is creating islands first, and connecting highways, but there doesnt seem to be any in between coverage.

if only New Jersey was just as nice as Hawaii........

Seriously though, when does at&t plan on fillling in the gaps from 9 in Freehold, north of I-195 northward to 9 & 18 in old bridge....

The question is why would they not plan on doing that when we know that eventually all GSM networks around the world will be replaced by WCDMA.

because this is at&t... your world delivered- sporadically.

its going to take time to get the build out completed across the entire network

I am north of Seaside Heights now. UMTS 850 and 1900 are going - my Nokia 6120 Classic picked up the 850.

But the GSM network is now overloaded. It was REALLY bad the other day... but even the UMTS network was. The typical "call goes through but no audio on both ends" kept happening for no apparent reason. Mostly near the ocean area. Too many people on the networks probably...

I also had random chop issues with a strong signal on GSM with EFR forced in several areas... odd. It might be an interference issue - AMR Full Rate was used when I put my phone into AMR after some serious chop at the same location. With AFS the chop went away. Then back to HR.

I am not sure how to lookup which 3G frequency you are using with
those models.

I was using an LG-CU500 and Nokia 6120 classic.

With regards to EFR, AMR, and AFS - I was simply talking about the different audio compression methods used for calls on GSM.

I actually have two CU-500s, for some reason..

I'm in Flemington (Hunterdon County) and 3G coverage is non existent. The reps at the AT&T store say we should have coverage by the end of 2008. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!!
