This is a important question, are you on a legit iPhone plan? I am and I was having the same problem.

After iPlus my iPhone youtube no longer worked so I checked over at hackingt0sh.org and came across a thread where the member said to remove the youtube folder from the payload zip. After you remove the youtube folder, you'll have to re-zip the payload file.

I did a back up first then a full restore, after which youtube works but the phone is jailbroken. It's still unlocked activated so I used iPlus and this time I used the command -j instead of -u and within 3 minutes the phone was jailbroken and I'm syncing my iPhone again.

Loveanh,

Yes legit iPhone plan via AT&T. I jailbroke my phone via iplus 2.0 minus the "-u"

Would I need to do what you did but with -j?

First backup your iPhone then do a full restore, you know how right?
After that youtube will work again and your phone should still be unlocked and activated but now you need to jailbreak it again. So in iPlus, use the command -j, for jailbreak.

Remember****remove the youtube folder from the payload zip in iPlus2.0 first before you run iPlus***

That did it for me last night.

lwhat if you have a refurbished iphone running 1.0.2 that hasnt been jailbroken or unlocked and when i try to use youtube it says "cannot connect to youtube". It has not been activated as of yet because I am trying to see if I can use it as a gophone for my cousin or maybe a pyp option. I thought youtube worked off of wifi if there was no other option such as edge. I thought it was similar to the itouch (I know the touch doesnt have edge). My weather, maps, stocks all work. thanks

Your referring to backing up using iTunes, correct? When I restore my phone iTunes will ask if I want to back up, right? And when the restore is done I restore it again from the iTunes backup? I'm not even trying to unlock my phone, when I used iPlus i removed the "-u" so it would skip that step and only jailbreak it, do you have any links for instructions on removing the payload zip?

Yes and yes to questions 1 and 2.

I'm using a Mac so I can only guide with what I know. In the iPlus2.0 folder, there is payload.zip. To open it, I right click and it becomes a folder, in the folder you need to remove the youtube folder. After you do that, re-zip by clicking and select "compress." Now you have the payload folder which you'll need to delete and delete the first payload.zip and rename the payload 2.zip back to payload.zip.

After that run iPlus and use command -j.

Good because I'm on a mac as well. Do I reload the iTunes backup to the phone before or after the jailbreak?
