My friend got a phone that someone had unlocked, since she was with AT&T we just updated it to 1.1.4 and I guess it was re-locked and we activated with iTunes and set up her account all that...

Now a few weeks later I see her modem is still at 04.03.13_G is there anyway to update this to the newest? is there any major differences in that one vs. 04.04.05_G? I seem to get better reception on that version vs. hers.

You should be able to put the phone into DFU mode and restore it - that'll get your baseband up to the newest version. After that, you'll have to re-unlock the unit. Use either iPlus or ZiPhone to do so.

I'm on 1.1.3 & have 04.03.13_G. My wifes is 1.1.4 & has 04.04.05_G.
Putting the phones side by side I get full signal, while my wifes phone is at 3 bars.

Ok, my memory was bad, she is on 1.1.3 so I guess that is the correct firmware? I should just update to 1.1.4 and the FW will be updated right?

cokeman73 -- I notice at work I now have 4 bars all the time, I always had 5 at my desk, but I haven't dropped a call here since 1.1.4 so maybe its just reporting more accurate?

Someone posted a while ago, when fw 1.1.4 first came out, about their opinion that fw 1.1.4 was much more stable than fw 1.1.3 and that the reception was also improved due to tweaking of the fw by Apple.

I want to say maybe Drakken, Dhendriksen or maybe Geek.dll
