Tethering your COU?

Anyone here use their cou to tether? I've gotten mixed answers from
different people saying we aren't allowed to. I know it works because i've done
it before here and there.

Is there any rules saying we can't? I mean we could be demoing it out
to customers outside of work that might want it.

Have you asked your management? I don't know anyone who does it, but most of the people I work with have BBs and wouldn't want EDGE speeds anyway. My ASM has a tilt but I don't think he tethers, I could be wrong though. I don't know anywhere it says you can't, but I tread lighly when it comes to the COU.

I've used it with my Tilt aswell, only to see how fast 3G speeds were.

And you will always get different answers. Can you (will it work)? Yes. Is it what the COU is issued for? Yes and no. It is intended for a point of contact and for demonstrating benefits of the device, however how would you explain why you were doing it from 9 pm to 1 am on your day off?

If you have to question it then chances are you shouldn't be doing it.

I only do it when absolutely necessary... It's good to know how to do it so you can explain it to a customer, especially when setting up bluetooth connections. In the blue days I used to do it all the time.

I will have to agree with ClassyLady78, check w/ your manager first.

data usage with my COU ends in losing the phone.

I have been using a usb card with my SIM forever with no problems and managers know about it. I don't see how it could result in termination when people use their COU's with the internet all the time.
