Just got a Curve... Volume giving me a heart attack!

This thing is insanely loud. The message and email alerts are too much. I have them set on low, and even tried setting them to escalating. It literally makes me jump when I get a text or email. Is there a way to go lower than "low". I have custom tones for my alerts and would like to keep them, but don't know if I will be able to live peacefully with this volume issue. Any info would be great!

Ive read a few threads on crackberry.com and they say their ringers are low. It might be just your ringtones that are loud have you tried the stock ones?

people on bbforums say its loud on the low setting also. i like it since i work outdoors, much better than my friends 8830 and my old Pearl

That's a possibility, but they weren't annoyingly loud on my blackjack. The stock tones are loud, but not deafening like my custom tones.

I have the same problems with the ringtones that I purchased. I have them set to low but it is way too loud.

LOL, Yeah, it definately takes some getting used to. This is the 1st phone that I trust completely to wake me in the mornings(I used to have a backup). If it's within a foot of my head, it literally jumpstarts my day.
