6265i problems

i have a problem.
my friend's 6265i crapped out and he sent it to Nokia in Huntsville, AL for repairs totalling $78 but the thing is he cant get brew/data to work now. I think Nokia loaded unbranded firmware on to it.
"V HL100V1300.nep
23-10-06" is his firmware.
so is there a way aside from taking it to Cellular South and trying to get those neanderthals to try and flash it with firmware. also, does anyone know if the screen burnout issue is isolated to the 1100 firmware? i had 2 other friends with 6265i's and i compared the firmware version and the one with ____1100.nep is the one with the screen burning out. sometimes it goes completely black, sometimes it will just go rainbow lines. just wondering. also, would it be possible to flash the firmware in phoenix or diego? would anyone happen to have the latest firmware for it? Thanks
