without using a different SIM card, is it possible to check if my k790a is unlocked through the settings or something?

The lock should be unlocked next to network.

The proper sequence is

Just that the first * prevents the phone from going to shortcuts/other stuff while you are entering it

lol they both work cuz the first * is nothing. as long as u input the proper sequence u can place anything before it
