How can you tell what EDGE speeds you are getting

I see guys talk about their edge speeds that they pull in but I don't know how they determine that. Is it an app that you have to install? How do you determine what kind of EDGE speeds you are getting?

It seems like my speeds are pretty poor, so I'd like to confirm.

Try it more than once to get a good average. It'll change of course, depending on location/signal strength.

Ouch! It definitely depends on the area you are in..lol. My edge usually gets over 200-270, so its kinda quick...

damn, i got from the 200+ i get when im home at night(where i conviently have wifi) then at school during the day i had 30... 30 kb/s, absolutely horrible, and thats when i need it most. suring my study halls is my time to read engadget, boy genius, etc... it sucks

yeah if you're using wifi it's quite fast.. but if not get ready to just sit and wait.. which sucks cause it sucks the battery life right out of hte phone..
