hi guys,

is this a common bug or what?
since ver 1.0.2 till 1.1.4 i cant get the '' . '' shortcut to work.

how the hell is this thing working?

Do you have it enabled under Settings | General | Keyboard | "." Shortcut ?

make sure you tap the space bar 2 times in succession like *tap tap* and not *tap pause tap*

I have found that if I disable auto-correction in keyboard settings, then the shortcut does not work. This may be the issue with yours.

I don't have an auto-correction option in keyboard settings or anywhere else that I can find. (virgin phone, 1.1.4)

You have to be jailbroken and d/l the option to disable auto-correction from installer.
