Hey everyone...for those in Canada waiting for the iPhone to be released...here's a way for us to get the attention of Apple & Rogers! Sign the following petition to show your support for the iPhone to be launched in Canada!

Do you actually, honestly think these online petitions would have any impact on Apple and/or Rogers - in terms of when they bring the phone into the country?

You want to start a real petition? Have everyone on Rogers threaten to reduce their minute plan to the next lower tier for one quarter if they don't cut a deal with Apple. That would - if you could actually do it - make people stand up and take notice.

Although you might have to rely on (gasp!) landlines for some of your calls.

No offence Rogers doesn't care about these petitions. A million people could sign this, its not going to make the phone come any faster. It will come one day, probably. I can careless if it ever does comes though. I have 2 iPhones since August.

Sign all the petitions you like. Call Rogers as much as you like. Call Apple as much as you like. Its not coming here unless Apple gives in on the monthly revenue. Its all about money. Forget the Data issue (as you can see Rogers data has come down), Rogers is not about to share the monthly revenue with Apple, and so far all of Apple's partners share the monthly revenue. Its a stalemate, and with the oligopoly going on in Canada and the lack of more than one real GSM provider, it's not going to happen.
Mind you, I remember reading that Apple might bend on the revenue model which might mean much higher handset prices, then it has a chance of coming.

Apple gets $10 per month per iPhone customer from AT&T in exchange for their five year exclusive rights. The story is that they offered it to Verizon Wireless first, and VZW wouldn't give in and walked away from the table. So it's just a matter of which carrier will accept Apple's terms.

Apple is a joke, I would gladly pay them $120 extra for the iPhone if it was unlocked, and they gave me the warranty without any hassles...

Oh well, if Apple wants the iPhone to be constantly iPWNED, so be it...

It is a good idea to have this petition, at least it shows them we are interested. If you don't like it, don't sign it.
