6682 Permanently locked - any recourse

Sometime ago, I got Cingular/AT&T to provide me with a code to unlock my 6682. They screwed up and gave me the wrong code resulting in my phone being permanently locked.
Is there any way that the phone can still be unlocked? What will it take?
Any ideas will be appreciated.

Just take it to a phone shop, they should be able to unlock it for you.
