XV6700 Battery Question

Hello, I just bought an XV6700 from eBay and it came with an iPhone theme on it. The battery life seems to be very poor, even when I only make about 5 phone calls and 5 texts, it seems to drop to about 60%, which is pretty bad for me. I was just wondering, would this iPhone theme be the culprit or would it not affect the battery life much more than just WM? I know it will but I just don't know if it would be a lot or a little bit. Do you think I should take it off for better battery life? Also, if the battery is just always this terrible, should I buy an extended battery? I don't know if I want to because they are huge but I can't live with this battery. I saw some on eBay but I doubt them being very good because they are all only about $5 but I don't really want to spend $50 on a good one, right now at least, maybe in a month once I'm landscaping again I'll buy that really good one from Seidios. Thoughts please?
