That would mean he'll have to purchas another Centro and thus why that class action agains carries went through to get this feature removed.

If its unlocked now, then it should be a simple process of activation with Verizon's help. What can most likely occur is that they would not allow or say "that IMEI/ESN is not in their system." Try it out.

I also have this question.

I won a Palm Centro in a promotion a few months ago. It arrived yesterday. It has the Sprint logo on it, so I'm assuming it has been Subsidy Locked to Sprint. However, I have a family plan on Verizon which I'm not ready to drop and would like to use the Centro on Verizon.

Knowing that Verizon is about to support Centros may fix the ESN issue (or may not, since they may only allow "their" Centro ESN numbers), but if the phone won't "allow itself" to work on the Verizon network, I'll still be out.

I guess I could sell the brand new phone on e-bay. Not sure I want a pink phone anyway. Since I've already got Verizon service, I couldn't buy a VZW Centro for the expected $99 price, which is probably all I can get on e-Bay for this one.

So... does anyone know how to clear the subsidy lock, or positively tell if there is one on the phone?
