how do i use my tilt as a modem

im trying to use my tilt as a modem for my laptop. I connect it to the laptop with the usb and download the htc modem onto the laptop. I went to wirless modem under connection an clicked start. I get connected to the laptop. the laptop ask for a number to dial and a password to connect..I typed my number and used a personal password but didn't work..I don't know what else to do or what im doin wrong.

This is documented all over the place. You need to use AT&T specific settings.
