My wife has the W810 and she needs a replacement.

Pros of the W810:
Awesome battery life
Excellent call quality
Durable (can take a beating)
Bar form factor

The things we don't like about it:
UI is slow
Stores only 100 messages before it slows down and starts complaining

Is there a new SE phone that mitigates these negative parts of the phone?

Yep, I felt the same way with my W810. Loved the thing, its just it didn't store a lot of txt's and I had to constantly clear them.

I recommend you look at Moto Krzr's, they seem great. My sister has one, very easy to use UI, good txting, batt life & call quality.

Going from an SE to a moto? Something I wouldn't recommend. I wouldn't call the moto UI easy to use, unless they contracted SE for the krzr :P.

RAZR and variation was hyper-hype for 3 years
however, the recently models are trying to get rid of RAZR shadow, and found Z10, which is said to come to T-Mobile, the spec is promising, I'll give moto a try over this

do not get a krzr. my friend had one, and the front cover came off like 3 times. within two months, he stopped using it and got another phone. i warned him not to get a motorola lol, but he didn't listen and learned the hard way

my w810i may have bit the bullet. i'm starting to look for alternatives and want to stay with SE.

i pretty much just want a solid (durable) phone with a loud earpiece, big screen, good camera, decent music capability and a flashlight style flash. (i used the flash on the w810i a lot in that regard).

ideas?

upgraded mine ... now with a w610i (really a w810i after a diet) and
it's rather a good little phone. All the w810i was less the bulk :-) Keypad
does take a little getting used to but nothing major.

I loved my K550 flashed to w610. I'll cherish the memories of the day when I had it...I can't seem to find a phone in that price range that has all those features either..
