Hey guys I have some questions for you SE guys. I am looking to pick up a new phone and have settled on getting a SE. Current phone is a razr. My question is depending on what I am looking for in a phone which handset should I go with. What are the pros and cons to either phone.

I am looking for...
Excellent ringtone sound. Would be using short mp3 clips as tones, not full songs, with the ability to put them on the phone myself.
Good/very good camera, I wouldn't/don't (use current)use too much.
Very good reception.
Nice size for front pocket storage. (Love the razr)

Would the k750i fit the bill or would it be better to go with the k790a. The k790a new is a little more than I am looking spend and the k750i is priced about right. Thanks for your help.

T650 or K810 also fit your needs. both look nicer then the K790 IMO. K750 is ancient but a really good phone. can you still buy the K750 though?

The w810i is almost the same as the k750.. Same camera, screen, etc. The w810 has quadband and I'd pick it over the k750.

I'd pick the k790a over them all though. Better screen and camera on it.

They've all got good reception.

I had the t650 for a month or so and really liked it. It's a good solid and very thin phone. If the k750 would work in your area (1900mhz) the t650 would too. I'd go for that one if not the k790a.

Yeah you can get them new on ebay for about $125. I know it's a little ancient, so is my razr. I've had that for like 3 years I think now.

I'm pretty sure the tri-band will work in my area. I don't think tmo runs off of 850 here.

definitely K790a, except you want PSP card support, then go for W810
K790a is rather cheap at MCO now ($250)

Why would you want an older card format when SE has been shifting to M2 for quite a while now?

To the original poster:

I'd definitely do the K790a over the 750. Better reception for North American service providers, much better camera features (xenon flash) and just a little more in-date, technology-wise.

Thanks for everyones input so far.

Maybe I'll hold off for another month and get the k790a. I'm still not sure, keep the opinions coming!

Check some threads on both phones out...do a search. You will find that the k750i wasn't such a hot phone until quite a few mods and hacks were done...and the tech is more old-school overall. The k790a has a far superior camera, more modern technology, better screen...and is a whole lot sexier package than the k750i.

Shop on HoFo BST...you can pick up a nice k790a for under $250.

K790a most definitely. Great screen, QVGA resolution screen, Great camera. I had the W810i and the K790a is a better phone then that upgraded K750i. The only thing the W810i had as an advantage is it was more pocketable and with no camera hump or cover.

Or you could get the K550i/W610i.

forget the 750 think w810, w610 and k790.

Those are all good phones. like said b4 the 810 and the 610 are a lot "smoother" and "pocket" better than the 790 BUT the 790 has xenon flash... Pic quality is about the same in good light, but the 790 w/ the xenon flash blows em away in low light.

2 me the 790 was just a sexy phone...

If you want thin, the K790a is probably NOT the phone for you. Its one of SE's thickest phones. Like someone else said, you might want to look into the T650 or K770 as they both also have excellent cameras and are a lot thinner.

I have been looking at the k550i. It is thinner and seems like a good phone.

Woops, you are right! The K550i is right up your alley. Its basically a toned down K790, but it still packs a decent camera and is a lot thinner. The ringtones are quite loud on that phone too. Its about $100 cheaper than the K790.
