My Verizon KRZR K1m reboots every approx 22 seconds, then it flashes to a black screen for 1/2 sec, then the screen comes back and the phone is unresponsive for approx 15 seconds. (Note: During approx 6 seconds before the reboot the keypad and other buttons are fully functional - I can access contacts, menus, etc., but not make a call.) Then the entire cycle repeats until I either turn off the phone during 6 seconds that the phone is responsive, or remove the battery.
The phone started doing this after attempting to take a photo and the phone locked up with an hour-glass icon on the display. I removed the battery and then the current problem started.
I have received a FRU phone replacement; however, I need to retrieve some contact data from the old phone that was not backed up on my Motorola Phone Tools software (and I did not use vzw's back-up assistant). The tech at the local Verizon store was unable to get the data.
Any suggestions? Note: I already tried swapping the main boards from the old to the new phone and no luck. I have removed the battery over nite and tried different batteries as well. Thank You!!!

For anyone interested...
During the several seconds my phone was "awake", I was attempting to clear all phone book entries from the opcode screen - took about 45 minutes to get the key strokes down to six seconds and get the "SUCCESS" message (see below). Not only did this clear my contacts, it also seems to have fixed the phone. Wierd.
This info below was from a 9/23/07 archive for clearing the VZW k1M. Good info to keep handy if you need to sell or return a k1M.
Goto opcode screen:
Enter: CLR, 0, 4, 8, 2, 6, 3, * (Note: Must be done quickly.) Seems especially true with this sequence, more so then entering debug mode.
From the opcode screen:
Enter 18* and click center radial button on phone. Then enter 0 and click on center radial button.
-wait and it will say success after a short time.
