Yeah, having everything people have been wanting was my tip off.

CITA exhibitors though has been showing some pretty cool stuff though. The HTC Touch Dual isn't too bad looking even for a slider...

Actually, last night on NBC news in Phoenix, the June release of the 3G iPhone was announced. Nothing April Fools about it.

April fools jokes on the web have been around for quite a long time. Heck, even major websites like Slashdot, or companies such as Google (Gmail Custom Time) and Blizzard (Bard Class Added) will engage in the tradition.

Maybe you need to gain a sense of humor?

Yes, Google today has a tiny link on how to become a space settler with them.,

The questionnaire on the right is pretty funny.

Uh, no.

What NBC news was likely talking about was the latest analyst to come out and say "our intelligence believes the 3G iPhone will launch in June."

I highly doubt you heard your local commentator start off with "Today, Apple Incorporated announced..."

Why? Because:

1) "Official" announcements, would be followed up by a press release on Apple's website.

2) Apple is very aware of the Osborne Effect (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Osborne_effect) and does not "announce" revisions to existing products in advance.

Tell you what Toomer, Why don't you call Channel 12 news in Phoenix: http://www.azcentral.com/12news/con...ll12_index.html and ask for Rick DeBruhl - lead "Call for Action" reporter. Ask HIM if he reported it on last night's 10 o"clock broadcast.

Then, I welcome your sarcasm - when you actually know what he said rather than incorrect speculation.

I didn't say he didn't report it. That wasn't my point.

My point was -- whatever he did report, was incorrect, from the point of your statement "the June release of the 3G iPhone was announced". No such thing was "announced" from Apple. Not last week, not this week. He reported on speculation from analysts - right or wrong as it may be - not a statement or press release from Apple.

C'mon, use that thing between your ears. You think a podunk local news reporter is going to be the first to break a story about a new Apple product release? Not Engadget, Gizmodo, CNet, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, or some other primary source?

C'mon, use the thing between YOUR ears. My statements stand. DeBruhl reported the release of the phone in June on last night's broadcast. I do not know what his source was. I saw the broadcast and relayed that report here. I offered you the opportunity to verify my post. So, please back off the sarcasm - at least until you call channel 12 News and verify the report.

I have not been sarcastic and I do not appreciate your sacrasm. I do realize you follow this phone, probably more than most here. But I do not appreciate your assumptions and sarcastic manner, especially when you are unwilling to verify information before you criticize it.

And, while I do appreciate the tech resources you list, I also do not consider NBC News in Phoenix "podunk". Granted, we cannot believe (or, at least most should not believe) everything the news reports - you could have the courage to to at least verify the story, check THEIR sources and then, if you still feel so committed, correct them. I am no troll, my posts in this forum are all intended to be responsible, contributory and/or asking reasonable questions. so, maybe you can lighten up a bit.

Wasn't my intent. Actually, Toomer is one of the greatest contributors to this forum, IMHO. He is well informed and usually correct. And, as such, Toomer and other frequent contributors can sometimes get impatient with unthoughtful posts, trolls, rumor mongers, people who post without searching, etc., etc., etc. However, such is not always the case and sometimes we can be a bit heavy handed with each other.

Back to the thread point, I do not think you can pre-rder. That was part of the April fools... Sorry. But keep watching and waiting with the rest of us.

Posted by: specialk79

Until it's confirmed by Apple, it's still a rumor. Period. The end.
