K790 - won't play mp3s

My mp3 files are there but it keeps on saying "can not play sound". This is only a number of files, but i'm still boggled by it.
They used to play as both my ringtone and regular music files, but not for some weird reason it won't open at all.

on the memory card or on phone memory?
I know it sucks but it may be time for a master reset.
