Been working on a razr v3 and I'm stuck. I can connect the phone to the computer, read info off the phone and flash it. However the screen is blank. Just black, not even a slightest light or anything. The flex cable is new and the lcd is new too (i just bought them) but maybe they came broken? I've tried 2 working mainboards and nothing.

Also, when the lcd isnt plugged in i turn on the phone and can hear startup sounds and all. However, when I plug in the flex to the lcd it turns on wierd, lights go on and off on the keypad and no startup sound? Also, is possible that everything has to be put together for it to work (i just have the flex connected to the lcd, housing isnt attached)?

To me, it sounds like you have gotten the wrong flex cable. Although the keypad flex cable of the V3 and the V3i may look identical, you cannot use one with the other. What will occur is what you are now experiencing. I may be wrong as nobody is perfect but as you mentioned, both flex and lcd are new and I have done this a couple times before so this would be my guess.
