Weird problem with my HTC touch

Switched it off last night before I fall asleep. This morning when i woke up, when I switched on my touch, after showing the "Smart Mobility" word on the screen, it will go blank. It's still working just that the screen is blank.
If I plug in the charger, it will work no problem otherwise if I remove the charger, the screen will go blank.
Anyone come across something like this before?

maybe the screen doesnt connet well with the mainboard

Check you screen setting s to see if its on LOW for battery power vs high for plug in power
