Ok, all you Motorola geeks out there, I would like to use a Motorola iDEN phone to connect my PC to the internet, speed is not an issue. I can connect my Boost i455 or my brother-in-law's Nextel i850 to the PC and create a network connection to some network. Obviously the phone does not actually dial the number configured but gets to some network somewhere. I get an IP address of 10.23.6.2 on the i455 and am able to ping known internet IPs. The problem is that I cannot connect to anything via IE because of a DNS error. I believe that the phone is connecting via a circuit data interface. Can anybody explain what it is I am connecting to and is there a way of doing what I would like to do? Thanks.

if you already down loaded usb modem software from motorola than what you do is click on network set up manually set up a dial up connection use for phone number s=2 than click on propertys select modem click on motorola phone click ok but make sure ur phones connected to data cable or bluetooth is set up then click dial it should all work it will ask for user name and pass just click ok and you should be all good

I believe that the S=2 dial string assumes that you have registered for or signed up to a data plan. I don't have a data plan but I do get connected to a network, I just can't access websites on a consistent basis. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. I would like to know just exactly what it is I am connecting to.
