i've seen both of them working with the sim hack, actually all the 905i series work, just a matter of the combination of sim hack and your sim card. but since they are 905i, they definitely going to be OUT!

I currently have both

Both work on my fido SM32 simcard. I have the inex804sh hypersim.

I rarely get signal outs that I have to revive the signal in a normal phone, maybe once in 3 weeks so far?

there is no stable sim hack for 905i series yet, i am not able to make any judgement on different sim hacks either, coz the stability is really unpredictable. what you have to do is try for yourself, the solution that works for me doesn't apply to anyone else.
someone's already working on 905i series stable sim hack, but if you wanna have a Nokia-stable 905i, the only way is software hack, and to do this I think we need to make donations to this community, and hire the entire iphone dev team, it wouldn't take them a month to hack all those japanese phones

now with the new inex hypersims, you dont have to plug it into another phone if you go TMSI OUT, you just have to restart your 905i, and it'll work fine. and if it just goes "out of service area" kind of out, it will auto reconnect.

yes. the ones that are specifically for one model.
i have an inex for f905i, when i plug that into my sh905i, it works perfectly, no outs whatsoever.

can the SO905ics charge with any usb cable? ie sharp 903 920 etc? i can't charge the phone thru the usb and my ac adapter is not with me :S

you can only charge your phone with a FOMA usb cable. other ones are only for data transfer

I'm on the same boat with waiting for a compatible sim that works with att. But until that happens I mess with a t-mobile sim.

Just got my phone and new t-mo sim card today. I'm using the nex sim v6 hack, and when I first put them in the N905i it didn't connect to the t-mo network. I was able to get it to work by sticking the sim, and the hack, in an old Nokia phone, then back into my N905i, which has been working beautifully for the last several hours now.

yea im using fido in calgary, canada with So905iCS and i can't do SMS at all either, it says something to do with data packet or something... ****ing sucks.. spent so much on this phone too... i rely on my text messages so the phone is just sitting on the counter, oh m using i-smartphone 2008 hack

dont even try using sms on SO905i, you can receive sms alright, but there's no way in this life that you'll be able to use it to send sms except if you are on docomo.

I wonder why only this SO905i is so buggy? It seems all the other 905i phones can all send/receive sms. Is the SO905iCS just as bad?

no, all 905i phone cannot be used in most of the US to send or receive SMS. I have tried on couple of the 905i all with same results. Dont really know why, but friends with a P905i in HK can receive and send sms just fine, but mine doesn't seem to work at all in the US on TMo.

That's very strange. The local retailer here in SoCal says that all of the 905i that he has in stock (he has yet to try the SO905i) can all send/receive SMS. He sells/recommends T-Mobile as well. It's not a problem with your settings, perhaps?

I'll talk to him again today. I haven't purchased one yet, but if they indeed cannot do SMS, then there's no point to me.

if you haven't bought the phone yet, just wait the SO906i come out to get one, it's not worth it now to get any phone on the 905i series when the 906i is already released.

hi just to let anyone know that the China3GP hypersim works well with 3040 Rogers sim card on my N905i . Aside from that I got a question for you N905i-ers

I installed the drivers for the phone from the cd already, but once i switch to MPT mode to try to sync wma files with Windows Media Player my pc keeps saying it found the New Hardware, after a while it prompted for restart as I did but it showed the same thing everytime I restarted.

I then manually installed a MTP driver from windows files using the Device Manager, restarted, and same message again. It just kept installing and prompting to restart.

Any help ?

in order to send sms on the SE DoCoMo Phones then it needs the first generation hypersim. i-smartphone sim for it to work. the newer hypersim have some problems with SE phones
