I wanna do a master reset, but very concerned about not getting my contacts. How do i save all my contacts on my laptop? And then how do i get all my contract back onto the k790 when the reset is finished?

??? i really don't know what's save onto the sim card or what's save on the phone itself????

If you have a memory card, then you can save your contacts to your memory card and easily recover them.
Contacts>options>advanced>back up to m.s.
When you are done flashing or whatever,
Contacts>options>advanced>restore from M.s.

I'm not completely sure exactly what stuff from the contacts are saved to the ms, but you would get them back in the same exact order as they was originally.

Otherwise, I would download Myphoneexplorer and sync your phone with your computer - you can save contacts and more!

thats the best way, if you want an alt use "my phone explorer"

works great for transferring contacts from phone to phone (if the memory cards are different or something)

My phone explorer is THE BEST software... I have 7 sony ericsson phones, so its really nice to have all my contacts easily transferable...
