This forum is kinda slow these days, eh?
Finally some news about some new Sanyo models. I'm not big on PTT, mostly for the fact I don't even know anyone else who uses Nextel Direct Connect. I tried using the Ready Link when it first came out, and it wasn't even fun as a novelty with the one person I knew who actually had Ready Link phone and was willing to pay to try it out.
I like how after 5 years or so, Q Chat is finally here, and Direct Connect branded PTT is going to Sanyo handsets after all this time being exclusive to Motorola handsets. Q Chat was to me, the main reason Sprint and Nextel combining made some sort of sense as Nextel's technology had to be replaced by something.
I'm still happy with my Katana at the moment. The DLX and Katana II looked a little weird to me, and didn't seem like a worthy upgrade. I actually hunted down a used Katana I after I lost my first one. These new models look kinda nice to me, so I might be interested in one as a replacement. I just hope they aren't too expensive, the menus are nice, and the bluetooth isn't completely restricted for doing anything useful with it other than using a stupid earpice.
Basically I'd be interest in upgrading just for the EVDO, and better looks over the DLX. Hopefully battery life and other stuff is improved all around. Oh and the speaker I would imagine should be a good one, unlike the one on my Katana which is underwhelming compared the very good speakers I've had on all my previous Sanyo phones.
There's also the Sanyo Katana LX Series which will also have Q Chat but looks like a pretty boring phone imo.
