Hey, some time ago I bought cellphone - Panasonic P900iv on japan auction, but he works only with NTT DoCoMo provider, I wonder if is there any chance to "unlock" it, or maybe someone can change for example main board just to make it works with other providers outside Japan? It's pretty important for me.

Regards.

First-
That deal with AT&T only covers Hawaii, I believe. It's just a perk if it happens to work elsewhere.
Second-
Deal or not AT&T can not build a 2100MHz network, which is what the P900iV requires. That Hawaii network is 850MHz. Only phones with FOMA Plus (850MHz) can roam on American 3G (and of those only one, the SH905iTV, is actually guaranteed to work).

You have a nice collector's piece; that's all it will be in North America. On the other hand, those living in Europe/Asia can try a SIM-hack and see how it goes.

Hmm, I'm planning on getting the P900iv soon so I will give it a try here in HK. I'm pretty certain it won't work though.....

Still, it's a great collector's item so whether it works here or not I'll still be extremely happy to have it. I've been dying to get this phone ever since it was released in Japan. I even downloaded the english user's manual in anticipation of my soon to be new aquisition.

hehe me 2 i have it as a pdf file so then the phone will never work here in the us? is there no adapter/hack/ nething that can get it to work??

this was way before FOMA wasnt even compatible with foreign 3G, until the 903i came along. So im pretty sure it wont work outside japan/euro/asia, and certainly not in the US, though the 903i series has 850/2100mhz 3G, and i live in a 850 3G area
