LG VX8550 BT does not see Phone contacts

I have a new Chocolate from VZW and I am using the BT paired with a BMW. The BT in the car has a feature that reads all the entries from the phone contacts and then displays them on the head unit of the car. This is actually very cool since you don't have to scroll for names on the phone. You can do it via the steering wheel controls.
The issue I am having is this:
When the phone first pairs all the contacts are downloaded and it works fine. After a while it loses that visibility. (I've tried other phones and they work fine so it's not a car issue).
When I spoke to a VZW tech he acknowledged that VZW does things to the BT (and I see that from reading posts). He mentioned that I should be able to access the internal BT menu and make so that this will work.
I've searched and can't really find a post that tells me how to reach this secret menu on the Chocolate.
So then. Can some one tell me if there is a way to do this.
Thanks.

I find it hard to believe that you spent much time searching on the forum for the service menu codes without finding them. Nevertheless: dial ##program8550 and hit send, the password is 000000
That said, I don't know what you're expecting to change in the service menu that is going to make your phone work with your car's BT system. If they share the same profiles, that's it.. that's your functionality. There's not a secret Bluetooth unlock setting in your service menu.
The rep who told you that was incorrect.

Geez...not very helpful are we. I did find that. However, there is nothing in that menu relating to BT.

Like I said, the rep who told you that was incorrect. How much more helpful can I be than just to give you the truth? There are several threads floating around about people and their phones/bmw if you'll search I'm sure you'll see them. Most people have similar problems to you.
