moto phone tools alternative?

im currently using phone tolls for my moto pebl but i find it a bit to over the top with the many features it has, all i need the phone software to do is to transfer pictures/video onto my computer and save my phonebook from my SIM.

are there other software alternatives out there that is perhaps leaner than phone tools?

I'm no GSM expert, or even a n00b, so I can not provide you with a solution for the SIM-to-PC transfer. As for the file transfer, use P2KCommander. There are at least a million tutorials on how to use it for the very purposes you are describing.

For the tutorials, search the forums. If you don't know how to do that, the link is in the top-right corner of the screen, right between "Quick Links" and "Log Out"; can't miss it.

You might want to try the newest version of P2kCommander. Works fine with my V3xx.

And, if you haven't found a solution for the phone-to-SIM transfer, I believe there's an opcode for it. Google "Motorola Opcodes" and see what you can find.
