Krzr K1m problems

Hello everyone,
I have some problems with my Krzr K1m.... so basically i was pushed in a pool with my cell still on me As soon as i got out of water, i took the battery out and then took it apart to try to let it dry out. It's been drying out under a warm lamp for about 1 week now. I've re-assembled it and the good news is it boots up normally.
Bad news is i cannot dial out or receive calls, and every so often it just locks up.
So that is my problem... I was wondering if i re-flashed it (i'm with Bell) if you think that would make a difference. Or is there another method that i don't know about.

On that note if i do need to flash it does it matter which version i use? I was able to find an Alltel, Verizon and Bell firmware.

Also i have not tried connecting it to my pc yet. I will try that tonight when i get home from work.

Thanks for all your help, I hope i can still get it working because it feels so promissing that it even starts up

No one has any suggestions??

Well i have tried to connect it to my computer, but the phone doesn't connect... it keeps rebooting. I can also power it up for a bit and use the phone as normal ( i can't make calls, but i can navigate the menus) but after about 30seconds the phone restarts and seems to enter an endless restarting loop.

Again any help is appreciated.

Have you tryed starting the phone in bootloader mode? (Hold * and # keys when you press the power button) if that loads ok then reflashing is possible. If your lucky that should fix your problems I would use whatever firmware is for your carrier unless you already know how to set it up using an alternate firmware. although When you have the phone on does it get service at all? If not your antenna may be shot and you may need to replace it.

Thanks for the reply.

I will try that Boot loader thing when i get home tonight. And no i get no service at when it powers on. I will look into getting a new antenna if the bootloader option works.

Thanks

Ok i've tried that bootloader thing. I can see the bootloader sceen , but the phone resets right away and loops from off to boot loader screen while i have *+# pressed.

And correction, i do get reception when i power up. It connects to Bell network and i get full reception.

Oddly enough the phone does not crash as long as i don't press anything. I can keep it one a working without it reseting.. but when i try to make a call, or try navigating the menu for too long, it crashs.

ok then it sounds like a software problem. if it's a stock phone and you have a warenty your safest option would be to bring it in to the service center. if not the cheapest option would be a reflash. but if it keeps resseting when in bootloader mode then you won't be able to do that. have you tryed connecting the phone to the usb cord whil holding the * and # keys? If you can get it to hold stable in the bootloader than a reflash is possible and should fix any problem your having. Be warned though that it would likely wipe out everything on your phone so if it can conect to the computer without crashing and your able to back up your contacts and those such things that would be a great option. FYI the krzr generally seems to be the most stable phone as far as flashing goes that I've ever worked with so it should hold up alright.

Oh BTW does your phone have the latest software version on it? try using motorola software update to update your phone assuming it will hold stable in the bootloader when switched over with such tools you should be in good shape. and if you are with the most current version well like I said a reflash would be a likely solution for your problems. however if you can't get it to boot into the bootloader and stay there you won't want to attempt that............ of course assuming the phone will conect just fine when it's powered on you could try flexing the phone. not su7re where one would obtain a bell flex though...... although all a flex does is rewrite all the seems to the phone...... so it's highly unlikely that that would correct the problem.
