Ringtones for LG8300

We have the LG8300 phones. Is there a way to move ringtones from the MicroSD card to the phone so we can use them on the phone?
I know I can use bitpim and the data cable to do this but we are getting ready to upgrade phones and the existing data cable will not work with the new phones and I was hoping that I could make it work by using the MicroSD cards.
