Using the Windows Mobile Messaging application, and the Yahoo IMAP/SMTP connection I am suddenly only able to receive email and NOT send. I get an error every send/receive connection that says "The message(s) could not be sent. Check that you have network coverage and that your account information is correct. Then try sending again." The message is generic and wrong - obviously I have both a connection and correct account information since my incoming email is being downloaded from the IMAP, and of course since it worked 3 days ago. I'm wondering if anyone else has suddenly had a loss of SMTP for Yahoo or any other POP/IMAP/SMTP services?? The Yahoo SMTP server works on my PC in Outlook Express, just not my phone, so I'm wondering if AT&T is blocking something. I've tried several different Yahoo SMTP's also - including smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com, smtp.mail.yahoo.com, plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com. All of these respond to ping from my PC. Ok - I even just used my Internet Connection Sharing on my phone to use my PC's Outlook Express to send email using plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com and that actually worked, just the Windows Messaging app that's not working anymore. So I guess that AT&T is not blocking SMTP, nor is Yahoo denying connections from my phone. It must be something with the Messaging app. In outlook express I had to specifically set the SSL port to 465, and I don't think I can do that in Messaging? |
