Need To Flash Treo 650 - Any Suggestions?

After weeks of talking with AT&T, T-Mobile, and Palm about unlocking my phone so I could switch from AT&T to T-Mobile, I was finally told that I need to "flash" my phone.
They said the reason the subsidy unlock code doesn't work is that my phone was already unlocked (the serial number on my phone begins with PTGG) and that attempting the subsidy unlock code permanently locked my phone to AT&T. The only way around this is to pay Palm $199 to "flash" the phone. (I could certainly just buy another Treo 650 for less than that, I'm sure.)
Does anybody have any suggestions around this?

Yeah, I'm gonna call BS on that. I don't think it's possible to lock a a factory unlocked Treo to a carrier. But even then, you can flash the software yourself, if that's what they're referring to. They may be referring to something else that's a more permanent reset...
You can load the unbranded 1.04 (?) GSM update on via SD card, then flash to the unbranded 1.20 GSM software, though. Just requires an SD card and some patience to find the appropriate files.
Also, you can try 650unlock.com if all else fails with AT&T and Palm. They used to advertise in the Marketplace here. I think they even let you run their app ahead of time to have it check whether it's able to unlock the phone or not. Granted, it's not free, but if you can't do it otherwise then you may want to look into it.

Thanks.
I ended up just going to some guy in the Valley here in Los Angeles and paying him $20 to hook it up to a machine and unlock it permanently.
Why AT&T or Palm couldn't do that, I have no idea.
Oh well. All is good now. Thanks again, everyone.
