SE 520a problem screen goes blank problem

Ok, I really don't know what happened, but all of a sudden (without the phone dropping) my wife's SE 520a goes blank, and will stay blank (even the outside display). It can still receive calls, but obviously because the screen is blank, we can't make outgoing calls.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Also, is there a way to grab all the contacts from the phone?
