Answer: Enhance full rate will make the calls sound better. To do it press these keys on the home screen *3370#. To restore normal rate press #3370#. The phone will be reseting automatically after you entered the code. When you use enhance full rate, it will decreases the battery's life.

P.S.: I believe these codes only work on GSM phones.

Turning EFR on decreases talk time by about 10%. Stand-by time is not affected.

Rogers AT&T network requires EFR to be turned on. If it is off, you'll get a fast busy tone when making a call.

Do Fido phones come with EFR on or off? If you have it on does it raise the rf of the phone?

i noticed wit it on that the battery drains a lot..my battery 900mAH was like on 4 bars but after a 30-45 min talk it came down to 3...then i was like WTF...so i turned off the EFR and then it was up on 4 bars..the calls seem the same to me and the battery life is a lot long wit it off IMO...i have cingular in the LA area.
