Can I Unbrand My V276

Hello,
I have a Moto V276 an old phone but works on anolog, which is all I can get now. I used to be able to get a digital signal, but recently went to a verizon home area and my phone automatically updated. So now I am stuck with basically nothing. So much for free roaming. Is there a way to undo the auto updated roaming? Can I "unbrand" my phone? Do I have any options?
thanks,
Crazie

If you have a data cable, and Motorola Phone Programming Tool(or whatever name it is) you can hand load a older PRL.
But if you're in an AMPS only area, shouldn't you be looking for a regional carrier or getting a repeater? I figure that would be a better option for yourself, save you alot of headaches and money probably.
Whats your location?

Thanks for the reply.
I am in Challis, ID. There is a local company Custertel and Edge wireless. But I just reupped with Verizon, because they said my coverage wouldn't change. Not sure what a repeater is or does.
I also tried to get a net10 phone, but it didn't work either. Their coverage map and customer service say it should work. So they are sending me a new phone.

I know for a fact the the Net10 and also tracfones will definately roam onto Edge Wireless without issue.
Call Verizon and tell them that you do not have service at your address anymore and if they can confirm that you will get out of your contract and you don't have to pay anything.
Ask neighbors and family and friends and ask them what works best in your area that will give you the best insight and probably you will get a carrier that covers your house.

How difficult is it to load an older PRL? Do you know of any guides for the v276...I see some for other phone are they similar?
Also is Edge wireless CDMA or GSM. I have a CDMA net10 phone.
thanks again

Oh shoot, I forgot that Net10 has CDMA phones now. Edge Wireless is GSM. I would look in to getting a GSM phone. As for loading an older PRL I don't think it is that difficult as long as you have the right tools to do it. The thing is even if you have an older PRL your phone wouldn't pick up any analog because the actual analog towers were shutoff.

You can flash the V276 with the V266 DST generic software if you want to unbrand it. They are totally com0atible.
Depending on what PRL you want, you can probably find it here:
http://www.corolada.com/prl/
For the V266 generic monster and lots more, check over at mobile-files in the Motorola CDMA section.
