Is it worht the extra $ to fork over for an additional 8 gb?

Posted by: rockyjr

For me, absolutely--pay an extra 100 for twice the size. Only regret would be if I didn't use more than 8 gb I would have a 100 dollar financial regret. But, if I got the 8 gb and ran out of space, I'd be kicking myself for not spending the extra 100.

16gigs owns me.

if your shelling out $400 whats another $100?

Only if your library is over 8GB. If it isn't, whether or not it is worth it is for you alone to decide.

hahaha mine is over 50gigs, they wont have the 64gig iphone for awhile.

get the 16gig, it NEVER hurts to have more sapce

for me I was happy with the 4GB, I had all my favorite songs, and 1 movie... Ghostbusters!

I just paid $29.99 for a kingston 8GB Flash drive, so paying $100 ofr the same space to me is pricey... I just want the phone...

And also the fact that I do not want to carry all my songs with me, what if a hot girl goes through my coverflow and sees that I have songs from the Doobie brothers, Fleetwood Mac, Lisa Loeb, and Cindy Lauper? That "bad boy act" I was putting on just went out the door!

Oh yea can't forget Tom Jones!

I guess it depends on how you look at it. Its a $100 more but that's 25% more.

I fit a lot on my 8gb. I would rather spend the $100 on accessories.

Yeah, but I can always tell the people with 8GB, my 16GB is twice as BIG as yours............

I say go for the 16GB, I have both and to me the 8GB just doesnt cut it for my needs I need more variety. I guess that's the biggest reason to have the 16GB over the 8GB IMO.

Heres my stand, I have over 300GB of music in itunes and I have a 4GB iPhone and I am perfectly happy. I dock almost nightly and shuffle the selection up. To go to 8GB would not have made a difference.

Ask yourself this... do you plan on using it as your primary personal media player, or do you want to just store a few dozen albums and a couple flicks here and there? 16 Gigs wont even put a tiny dent in my music catalog, so I opted for the 8GB. I have a 160GB Full with music alone, and use my iPhone as a backup for my faviorite 50 or so albums and swap out movies here and there and have never felt the need to max out the memory, but if you want a iPod replacement and your catolog is small enough for the 8 or 16, i say go for the 16GB, it's only a hundred bucks more and it gives you the oppertunity to grow your collection without future space constraints...

Exactly!!!

If I had the option I'd gladly sheel out another $100 for twice the space. I have to painfully prune through my huge iTunes library now. I used to think I'd never fill my 1GB MP3, now my 8GB's capped and I just don't have the room. If you're weighing the two, I'd spring for the 16GB.

I like to try to fit as much of my library as possible on it; it's part of me; my music preferences are part of my identity, and to just be able to whip it out and show it to whoever comes along is an awesome feeling.

If the premium price is not an issue with you, get it. Price is a big factor for me. I wouldn't have an iPhone right now if I wasn't able to get it at the price I did ($250 for a 8GB refurb w/o a 2 year AT&T contract unlocked for T-mo).

If the 16GB refurb model was available for $100 more, I probably would still stick with the 8GB. $250 is my max budget for a cell phone.

As others have mentioned, I only put a select few music tracks on my iPhone. It is usually the current hits and what is on my "Top 25 Most Played" iTunes playlist. Most of the memory is used for podcasts (mostly video), movies (only 2 on there right now), favorite youtube videos, etc. and I still have 4GB free.
