V9m vs. Z6m

Im not sure what the software difference is between the V9m and Z6m, but to me they both use the same software or tho it looks.
Here is my concern/question, when you have pictures setup for a contact
---on the V9m:
-------A person calls, you see the picture
-------that same person text you, you just see "1 new message from ContactName"
---on the Z6m:
-------A person calls, you see the picture
-------that same person text you, you see "1 new message from ContactName" and ALSO the picture
Why is this possible on the Z6m and not V9m?
