Any idea how to deal with the battery issue for N75? I know this phone is great but also know that its battery is sucky.. so wondering if anyone out there has found a solution, i.e. a different battery model or so?

Have you already turned the Packet Connection to 'When Needed' instead of 'When Available'?

(If you haven't, it's in the menu under Settings>Config>Connection>Packet Data in 10.1.282 (AT&T) or Tools>Settings>Connection>Packet Data in 10.2.055 (unbranded). I don't know where it is in 20.1.172 (AT&T) and God help you if you have that version because you can't unbrand it without crazy expensive phone voodoo.)

If you have 10.2.055 (and from the sound of it, it's kind of a big if, since 10.2.055 starts with Packet Data set to 'When Needed') you COULD always turn the network mode to GSM Only (T>S>Network, and don't bother looking in branded firmware), but since there's no WiFi on the N75 and you might need 3G Data (or you have weird ears and need 3G Voice) it may not be the best idea.

That should be all you need to do to get the most out of the battery.

Advertised standby times for phones are based on just letting it sit without taking calls from 'battery full' until 'dead battery'. If you actually use the phone it's a lot less. And there's usually far more ways to use a phone with native code and a full filesystem than a regular camera/feature/just-talk-to-people-phone.

Then again, if you use even the non-radio features of a standard phone for hours on end you'd probably have to charge it up as often as an S60 or WM6 phone anyway.

Thanks for the info. as far as for the firmware, I have 10.1.273 (ATT), and will soon try to unbrand & upgrade it once I got the cable... And yes I just did change the Packet Connection to "As needed", so I'll see how much that helps.
