Needs Advice On Purchasing A Blackberry Curve 8310 And Blackberry Plan!

I am looking to purchase a BlackBerry Curve 8310 with an already existing plan. The plan is the FamilyTalk Nation 1400 Rollover & Unlimited Night/Weekend & Unlimited Mobile-To-Mobile Minutes. My personal data plan is 5mb of Internet/Media Net and 1500 text messaging. This plan has been working fine for the family. I have consulted my brother and he has told me to get the Blackberry Curve 8310. I know with the Blackberry plans you can Blackberry Personal which is unlimited data usage for $30, but would that eliminate my plan of 1500 text messages? Would it be better if I got the Blackberry Personal Bundle for $50? My dad is also involved in the IBM Sponsorship and they currently have a Blackberry Curve 8310 package, but it seems as if I am getting a whole new plan by myself. Basically I am asking if I were to purchase a Blackberry service with my family plan, what would happen to my personal data plan? What is the better buy? I am also looking into getting JiveTalk to use aim on it as well? What are the opinions? Thanks!

How many lines share the family plan? Do the other lines use text messaging?

You can get the $30 family unlimited messaging which is good value if everyone uses messaging. You could then get the $30 BB personal for your line.

Jivetalk is very good for IM.
