Renew contract with Z9 or just get unocked Z3

My contract with AT&T is up(has been since September!), and as we speak I am on a month to month as if I were on the same plan, but without being locked in with a 2 year agreement.

I am very close to renewing my contract(on a family plan) and getting the Z9, but I was thinking of some alternatives.

I am waiting to see what the LG Vu will be like and first impressions there, as that could be the only other thing that trumps the Z9.

I was thinking though, what if I just got an unlocked Z3 and kept my free upgrade until I can make up my mind. I know the Z3 is pretty outdated, but it's pretty cheap($150 new on ebay) and will work on AT&T. Would it be a mistake getting the phone since it is so old? Is the z9 a vast improvement? Are there any phones in the future that I should wait out for?

Any and all info/input would be great.

You probably should have asked this in the Phone Battle forum. I will say the Z3 is a highly durable phone, but thats about it. Compared to the Z9 it's a joke. It really depends on what you use your phone for. If you text at all the Z3 is very difficult, it's narrow & has small keys. It can only hold 2gb microSD cards, compared to the Z9's 8gb. A 1.8" screen compared to a 2.4" screen. I say go with Z9, It's hard telling when AT&T will actually get the LG Vu out. It's been delayed so many times it's crazy.

Right now you're about 2 weeks away from the Vu's release so I'd wait for it to launch and then decide which works for you (the Z9 or the Vu).

As long as you have a phone that works I'd just wait...but definitely take the Z3 off your list. It's not worth the money at this point.
