BlackJack II -- How do I enter foreign characters?

Could you please take a look at this thread of mine in the Samsung (manufacturer) forum?

As someone there pointed out, I should get a better response in the AT&T Samsung subforum.

TIA

Guess you didn't read the thread, just the title, cause that's in the second line. That, which is by no means a shortcut, is exactly what I'm trying to avoid. Thanks, though.

Because T9 Text will pull up characters that you have used in the past to complete words, can you simply choose those characters you've already used that have the appropriate accent marks?
I'm not familiar enough with Spanish to know if there is a group of particular letters that will be consistently accented, if so, this should help a little...?

Guys, this is a QWERTY phone... No T9. And no, there is no way to tell whether you want to type a or á when you press A or that you want to type e or é when you press E, so it's not a matter of choosing the most common character. But regardless, the point here is that T9 is not involved.

T9 will predict past uses of accents...

Yes, but I wouldn't want to be switching languages all the time, several times a day. I didn't have to on the Moto Q9. I forgot what it is I had to press, but there was a keyboard shortcut for all these foreign characters. Same as my Treo 750. Same as my Nokia E61i. I would suppose all QWERTY phones have this.

I mean, I could always keep it the prediction in Spanish (since for English I wouldn't have to go into the SYM table) and ignore the predictions in English. After all, I haven't been using T9 for either language so far. This is really not what I was looking for, since I am way faster with keyboard shortcuts and you don't need to look at the screen as you type, but it does help.
