Corporate Discount Applicable to BB Data Plan?

Hi first time post. I've been searching everywhere trying to find the answer to this question and the site search isn't working too well right now for me.

I just moved over from an iphone plan to a family plan with 2 curves.

I have a county discount FAN of 15%. I see that I received the discount on my primary line for the voice portion. Is the corporate discount suppose to work for the blackberry data (BIS) as well and maybe even the text message plan?

I could of swore that it was the case when I had the Pearl a little while back.

Can anyone clarify this for me?

How discounts are applied is determined by the contract your employer has with AT&T. There is no fixed answer.

call to ask them to double check.

for the longest time my FAN didn't apply to the data portion of my bill, then about a year ago it just satrted to magically apply. maybe my company renegotiated? I dunno

I can't speak to your specific FAN discount, but on mine i get a 15% discount on voice and data plan only. If my data plan comes with included text or other stuff, the whole thing is discounted, otherwise only data and not text is discounted.

In other words, if i get the 35.00 Blackberry BIS plan with 200 included messages, i get 15% off the whole thing.

If i added the 30.00 BIS plan and then added the 5.00 text 200 plan ontop of that i would only get the discount off the 30.00 BIS plan.

Other options (discounted intl LD, early nights, etc...) are not discounted. My FAN is a run of the mill state employee discount FAN.

I get the discount for phone and data only for the primary line. On a family plan that gives me a discount for phone minutes, blackberry data and family text package. If I add a data package (or any additional cost service) to any of the other lines on the same family plan, the discount isn't applied to the data portion of that line. Further, if I add an unlimited data plan for a laptop card to the family plan, I don't get the discount.

I put the data sim on an individual line to get the discount applied to that line too but I can't take advantage of the phone/text with it (I was swapping the SIM into a 3G phone when not in the laptop card). I liked having a separate line for weekends/off hours but decided it wasn't worth the cost.
