hi everybody!
i have an SH905i and i see that i can't use the GPS function, but i can use the map only, but i don't know how can i see the italian map, i see only Tokyo's <(T_T)>
can you help me? GPS i-appli is all japanese....so i can't understand everything....thanks!!! (^o^)b

I doubt you will be able to load maps of Rome or Verona onto it. It was meant for Japan only

This happens with p905i as well. The software comes with a small piece of the map by default which displays an area in Japan (correct me if I'm wrong : I think it's shibuya the place where you have the diagonal cross walk). If you try scrolling around it won't work simply because you're outside of Japan. There is NO GPS functionality outside of Japan. The map will never go outside of Japan and it is a Japan only feature.

why doesn't the GPS work?
is there a method to make the GPS working?

maybe there's a method to pay and use GPS like DoCoMo does...

No-internet-no-GPS-wasn't-meant-for-use-outside-Japan.

If you want GPS so badly then get a Nokia or a Sony Ericsson.

Or just move to Japan.

Get a nokia n95, or n82, and it'll solve your gps problem, i have been using the gps on them for awhile.

hmm it seems like ntt World wing needs to include maps of other areas (for those japanese tourists)

If you used a DoCoMo FOMA phone with the Navitime Java application, you'd get maps in countries other than Japan. Virtually all the developed countries and some developing ones are supported with it.

yeah except we're still not able to use their GPS service so it's a waste anyways.

I wouldnt mind a map but then would it be ultra detailed for cities, streets, major points of interest? or just a political map?

GPS doesn't work outside Japan. If you want a GPS, get a TomTom or Garmin.

It would probably show cities and streets, and possibly major POI's too. Most likely not a political map. No use running around with a map like that haha
