Hi everyone.
I've never owned at DoCoMo phone before, and it's time that i try one.

I'm having a haaaard time making a decision between SH905i and F905i..

I love both of the phones in blue, but i just don't know what one to pick..

F905i pros:
2 cameras
3.2 inch screen
F905i cons:
No 180 degree rotating of screen
No "touchpad"? u know..

SH905i pros:
Rotating screen and touchpad
Slim
SH905i cons:
No outer display
No photo light

I like the way the screen on SH905i can lay down with the screen up, so u can watch movies.

idk..

Any one who knows which one of these are best, with most gadgets and themes and games and stuff ?

the touch pad isn't really that important.. unless your in japan...

for the F905i.. you can rotate the screen to the left and right... better in my opinion since you can just keep the phone open at a 135 degree angle and place the phone on a desk and watch a movie without having to hold the phone like the sh905i ...

however ive never owned a sh905i... but i'll stay say.. f905i

I don't hear a lot of people buying f905 so if you want to be more of the unique crowd, f905 is better. Most people are buying SH905 or P905. However, I must say in terms of design, I like Sharp best. It's just that their camera specs aren't as high as panasonic and that back then, they said sharp's camera might not be unlocked (where as P905 was factory unlocked), I choose Panasonic.

As for the rotating issue, I think sharp's phone would be nicer because I don't think it'll be that much more inconvinent to hold it up and since this is a mobile device, it's not likely that you will be sitting at your desk at home and watching a movie from such as smalls screen when you've got 17" + monitor sitting infront of you. So on the subway, it'll be like holding a PSP (smaller version) and watching a movie.

It's really the preference of design since most of the function aren't really usable for us anyways. But to me, I like slimmer phones so I'd pick sharp.

About phones, which one has nicer screen ? I own a 903SH now, it's nice, but i'd like to try something new.

Does one of them have better feautures? or when playing music with headset, is it the same play-time for both? The same with videos?

I really like the F905i, but I went for SH905i because of aesthetics. Also, I have a 920SH which looks similar to F905i.

The rotating screen was another thing. Lastly, it's a Sharp.

But yea, like you said, SH905i has a nicer look.. god it's hard to decide.

If anyone can come with any objection to why i should not buy the F905i, please do so ^^

else i think i'm gonna buy the blue one.

I'm not sure if you have checked out youtube, but I've seen a few vids of both the f905i, and the sh905i in action on there. I am in the same position as you, i can't decide between the two. Check them out, maybe it will help with your decision.

. I've already watched them all, and it made me even more indecisive.

Also watched the videos on http://www.nicovideo.jp/, which has a lot of great videos of em', ah it's just so hard.. But i think i'll try out the F905i, it looks awesome, and i've heard from a ebay seller that it's the one with more gadgets of the two.. I don't know if this is true though ^^

but you must remember it is a sharp aquos screen.. the detail will be slightly nicer, in my opnion that is! both phones are gorgeous.

not true at all. since they have the same screen resolution, the F905i will have images that will not look as sharp as the AQUOS Sh905i. But that .2mm difference will be not that noticeable to many people. I can see it though.

Yea, no doubt i like the design and screen on the SH better.

But after reading reviews and stuff i think i'll buy F905i.

If they both display the same number of colours, then the smaller screen will look more crisp and vibrant. The Fujitsu's 3.2" will not look as good as Sharp's 3", and I don't even have to go into the fact that Sharp has AQUOS.

I have compared the two screens in person, so I'm not basing this on facts and common sense.

I have a SH905i and Riel is right!
SH905i has a SHARP AQUOS display , the best displays...
F905i has bigger display than SH905i but it's FUJITSU and it's however good, but sharp's better than fujitsu...but fujitsu is one of the best displays too

i think both are very very good, but i think sharp's a little better.

PS:don't forget both are very good because are japanese displays so it's the best ^^

Sharp.

The blue one has a very nice pattern, and the chrome accents the blue colour very well in my opinion.

Ah by the way, there is no way of getting internet on the phones ? I have it now om my 903SH.

I use internet alot for writing blogs to my Ameba blog. ^^

And will it work in any country with GSM/3G? We have GSM/3G here, so i guess it will, but still not sure.

I tired to search for this but i only found something about it working in USA/Canada?

i got both the SH and F.
but now they're both sold =/

they're both very similar phones in terms of functions, features and abilities.
the screen is noticeably bigger, and the outer display is somewhat useful. if you want to take shot once in a while, choose the F. the SH's camera is unacceptable

its just really bad IMO.. i hated it. the F's looks pretty sharp and comes out nicely
but the SH's flip opens very smoothly, yet it's not flimsy, its firm. and just looks very nice.

in the end.. it all comes down to the looks

Yeah the camera's a bit of a let down.. it's worse when you have to see the ugly photo after you snap it in a large AQUOS screen lol.

Yeah man, last time i visited hofo the 903sh was still king in terms of japanese phones. I hear one little comment on some youtube video about the 920sh being unlocked then i go back and find out they unlocked the 905i series

I'm not complaining though

Awesome phone !!

One question though.. The finger scanner thing.. It asks for Security Code.. I tried to enter my PIN number, but it says wrong terminal code..

What should i do? Anyone who's got the scanner thing working? thanks

well, we only know from our point of view outside of japan, which can only tell us so much of what people outside of japan like. The F905i, and SO905i could be a very popular phone in Japan, but we doesn't live there, so it's kind of hard for us to tell how popular those phone really are.

That ranking was the thing that really made me choose F905i. After reading the reviews of both SH905i and F905i, F905i was my choise.. and i haven't regretted it yet lol..

You can always just paste the link into google translator, and it will maybe be more understandable?

Compared to SH905i, F905i got better reviews, on that site.

I think it is. Even when the signal is lost, i don't have to turn the phone off and on again to gain signal, it automatically come again. I heard some had to put the hypersim in an other phone to make it work again?

Yes you can set a music file as ringtone if you like. You just have to move from microSD memory to phone memory

You transfer music by setting phone on MTP mode, and connect it to computer with USB cable. Then open windows media player 10+ and sync. phone. Now just drag music file in the player and start sync. and it will be on phone (: files will automaticly be converted to WMA

my first surprised is about the lost signal that you dont have to CPR sim card and second surprised is that you can used wma files as a ringtone without converting the file to mmf od midi such as sharp or panasonic

because i ve tried all day long to convert to midi but i cant do it

how much memory on the phone and did the data cable come with the phone?

how much and wheredid you buy the phone ?

Well, i never tried to set as ringtone, i just saw in setting that you can chose a music file as ringtone, and it went to my music player to select song, so i assumed that it was possible. XD

I think there is 100 mb. and you can add microSD up to 2GB (which i have).
Though i heard of some special brand miniSD up to like 6-8 gb that still also works on the phone. i think i read it somewhere

Datacable does not come with phone when you buy from DoCoMo, maybe you can find a ebay auction with it included..XD but cable is cheap and you can buy them many places. I actually use my datacable from my 903SH which works perfect^^

I wouldn't put my hopes up on the ringtone part. It might be greyed out until the song goes through the i-mode network which makes those mp3s into proper AAC ringtones.

i am so hopeless with jpnese phone's ringtone too

but at least i hope i could use a japanese song ringtone on japanese phone

Ah yes, i tried that now, and it is not possible, i don't know if it's because songs should be on phone memory, or if they are wrong filetype. But it should be possible since it have the option of selecting a Music file. idk. haha

Haha the DoCoMo Dake? I bought it off Yahoo! Japan auctions for like 50 yen for my other phone (903SH) some time ago (:

You can find them on Ebay too i think..

Under MTP mode it says: Enables PC to access microSD in MTP mode.

So i guess it's only for microSD >__< too bad :/ there should be a way to get music on phone memory though.. i just don't know how haha.,

Well by transfering them with MTP mode they are saved to the microSD right ;p? If yes, then i can't move, because when i try to move it says No items to select

Haha oh XD even if ring tone is not possible like that, the phone still rocks!! I love you can turn display it easy when writing messages and then emotions come and stuff like that. also in Super bomber man game in some levels it asks you to turn the screen so you get nice view.. haha i don't know.. i just think it is an awesome phone, and too bad if you don't get it because of ringtone XD though it should be possible

P905i is also veery cool

still like F905i better though XD but good luck with making decision

i would say F905i

it stands out so much more...well unless you get like a red P905i or the gold one...

i have a black one...and now i'm getting another F905i LOLz

about the saving on phone memory...i have no idea how except the fact of just moving the file from the microsd into the phone memory...i've only tried it with midi files though.

i dont know if i can move .wma files into the phone...i'll try it out later.

I bought it for 42000 yen on Yahoo Japan, very cheap . On ebay it is more expensive XD

#minus2 > Set phone to MTP mode under life kit > ir/ic/pc connection.
use usb cable to connect to PC. Open windows media player 10 or 11 and sync. Now just drag music files in the right side-bar to add to phone. It will automaticly convert to WMA ^^ I set the converting down in quality a little to like 96, but quality on phone is still VERY good. sounds the same as original mp3 file i think XD

i bought it off a guy on ebay (again)..he has an ebay shop called docobank or something like that. very good seller...mine is not here yet...but i'll try it out once i get it..however i'm back to using my p905i now after getting the Inex hypersim...man..the quality of the inex's are realli realli good...

totally different from those chinese made ones...

btw, i'm thai as well but i study here in the UK...going back to bkk next week!! cant wait
