Okay, so I updated my phone a couple of days ago using Motorola Software Update, and when I had finished, the style of my phone was really different. The menu looked all cool and fresh, and it just looked better. However, I noticed that all of the text messages I had in my Inbox/Outbox/Drafts were gone when I went to look for them. The only thing left I had in my inbox was a message from my phone service provider, Telus, that was a notification of a GPS map application. I had received this message prior to updating the software, and for some reason, I just left it in my inbox.
I looked at the storage space on the phone, and I have the same amount as I did with all of the messages in my Inbox etc. I'm wondering if my messages are still on my phone but maybe hidden somewhere. I was just wondering why a message from my service provider was left in my Inbox while the rest were deleted/moved/hidden.
Can anyone help me to retrieve my messages?
My KRZR is a k1m, and it's CDMA 1X-EVDO. I've never hacked or flashed it before, by the way.

I had the exact same problem and I ended up reentering all of my phone book entries. I checked my phone and noticed that the phone and memory card had all the same amount of allocated space but nothing was showing up. What i did was to first make a backup of the contacts that I had reentered. I then connected my phone to the phone tools and started the software upgrade again. It seems as if the software upgrade had not completed. The process continued with the restore after which everything was available again. After the upgrade I noticed that there was an additional ICON on the phone for napster.
Seems as if the problem lies with the software upgrade.. Just try rerunning the upgrade and the phone should continue from the restore portion...
Hope this helps PS .. I just did a backup in case something else went screwy with the software update, this was not needed as I later found out..
