Are they using hypersim, can anyone confirm?
http://www.plemix.com/phone-sharp-sh905i-phone
http://www.plemix.com/phone-sonyericsson-so905ics-phone

Posted by: steph3n

same with hi-mobile...they claim it is "fully unlocked"!!!
http://www.hi-mobile.net/Sharp/phon...-fully-unlocked

is it true?...

Posted by: shungo

it says FULLY UNLOCKED!
remember FULLY!
don't know if its true tho.....

Posted by: EpikHigh

they're not exclusive anymore.. all these stores are getting them.. even the local ones here in vancouver..
oh well.. i sold both of mine before they came here.. : D

Posted by: MyLoveForTofu

I don't trust them >_> why don't you go ahead and try lol XD

ah well I already got my P so I won't bother taking unnecessary risks

Posted by: Darthchilli

if its anything like the P
it means they crack open the phone to do internal simhack
and yea well
demand has dropped for the docomos already

Posted by: riel

What they probably did is they inserted a built-in HyperSIM.

Posted by: murdoc2k

yep.. prices are starting to drop. N905 buyitnow price on ebay is now at 498.

Posted by: steph3n

well even if it's an "built in" hypersim.....how can we know if it will work with our simcard? e.g. i have a Rogers 4000....so i'm guessing it wont work eitherway?

Posted by: BMWFilms

I`d rather not crack open my phone

Posted by: 4agze

Description and details posted on the website is subjective which might misleading buyers.

Posted by: riel

Maybe they've got different SIM hacks in different phones? So maybe a couple phones hacked for 3040, a couple for 4000?

Posted by: murdoc2k

There is no stable unlock yet even for GSM in Canada and we all know reception has been reduced (especially for those who have 903SH) so... they prolly have INex (which seems to be the most stable) , Next v6/7 or i-smartphone 2008.

not that many people use SIMKJ so.. I'm guessing they might not use those.

Yes it is included in the price. As all of you may know by now, I am not that familiar with the Japanese phone unlocking thing. Yesterday was the first time I saw that thin SIM thing in the SIM tray of the phone. It was amazing to me.

Posted by: plemix.com

Another Japanese SIM unlocked phone came to me on the same day. The SH905i and SO905iCS queuing up for the photo shooting. They are very different. The Sharp SH905i is shiny and thin with a 3.2 mega pixel camera. As all the other Sharp phones, the screen is always large and crystal “sharp”.

Now that I aware, there are already tons of discussion and reviews on this Sharp phone, may be there is not much I can share but just some more image picts.

The box is big…. but there is nothing. Just a Phone and a battery plus a thick manual full of Japanese content. So we decided we need to get at least an after market charger for our customers. **Edit - We now include a data cable in the package as well. Super value.

I have got the black and the pink for this photo shooting. But I can only choose one for a closer look… mmm.. since everyone got the black anyway, then I will do the pink.

Another image for the two colours. The phone is long because of the long screen requirement in Japan.

3.2 mega pixel camera but no flash.

Same as other Japanese phones, the keyboard quality and sensitivity are both very good. The built quality of this Sharp phone is excellent as well. Everything fits well and solid.

A unique feature of SH905i is the Touch Cruiser navigation pad. It is almost like the touch mouse pad of the notebook computers. You can use your finger to move and navigate the phone interface. It is quite fun to use.

On the lower bottom side, there we have a MicroSD slot.

You can actually turn the screen and make the display side up for the phone.

Camera shutter on the other side of the phone. Since I cannot test the TV feature, not sure how the TV thing means.

The phone is shiny and flashy.

Crystal sharp large screen.

English phone menu.

There is an antenna for TV use (I believe).

OK it is the last shot showing the back of the phone.

Although I love the super bulky SO905iCS more, but this shiny flashy thin Sharp phone is definitely beautiful as well. I am always wondering why the Japanese phones are not selling worldwide. I mean, why won’t they release some phones for worldwide? They can storm the market like they did in the consumer electronics world.

Just to let you know, different carriers have different SIM cards that require different SIM hacks. Make sure you let your customers know which HyperSIM you are providing, and check to see if it is compatible with their SIM card.

as everybody were talking about sharp 920sh 905sh, these phone are unlock to make calls, sms, calandar, and alarm only. the media functions are still locked. But you wrote FULLY UNLOCK? is that meaning the media functions are unlock now?

..
SoftBank 920SH = Calls, SMS, basic phone features
FOMA SH/P/etc. 905i = Calls, SMS, camera, video player, music player, etc. all except any internet-related functions.
..

I hope so. I will discuss with our purchase guys and see if they can get stable source for them. Sometimes for these Japanese phones, if supply is not stable, it will make our customer feel bad about our service.

Posted by: cta16

Ok thanks. Please keep us updated if you get any more of the 905i series.

Any news on the F905i as it is still conspicuous by it's absence from your website?

Probably due to lack of demand.

But plemix is a great place to buy phones (full set) so by all means go to plemix.com and check it out.

So you reckon it's unlikely to appear on there any time soon?

Posted by: murdoc2k

I believe so. Plus the F906i is coming out soon so I doubt they will import 905 anymore.

Oh well at the least they have the N905i which is top of my considerations list.

Posted by: plemix.com

Yes guys, misteriously the purchase guys is not able to get F905i into our list yet. I will try to ask them again. For me, I feel odd not to have all of them together.

----Edit----
Strange... I have seen the phone in our list but somehow it is not selling on the Plemix site... Need to figure out why.

Posted by: plemix.com

I did this Panasonic P905i unboxing for a while but somehow forgot to post them because of too busy lately. Anyway, I would like to share with some picture on this nice phone here to you guys. I specifically requested a non-black color, since shooting a black color phone is comparatively difficult. Then it comes the gold color one. Well, it is unique and looks good.

The phone only comes with itself and a battery, oh also a thick Japanese user manual. So we added the Charger, Data Cable and the HyperSIM to make it work. This Clam-Shell phone is actually a little bit long, since it has a large 480x854 16:9 WVGA VIERA LCD screen. But comparing to the other 5 mega pixel auto-focus SO905iCS, it is a lot thinner.

The flip top can open side way as well. With the antenna pulled out, it looks like a small TV. Actually the TV thing is the whole point. In Japan, you can watch the “One-Seg” TV with the phone.

A close up on the navigation keypad. See the AF (Auto Focus) key?

AV out and recording button on the side is specially made for the TV capability.

Is it the only one with Bluetooth in the 905 series phone? The open key is for opening the flip side way.

The 5.1 mega pixel camera with flash (Xenon?) does not have any lens cover at all.

Beautiful 3.2 inches 480 x 854 2000:1 VIERA LCD screen.

Wow… when the backlight is on, the keypad is gorgeous.

The grid aligned phone menu system.

Another shot with the backlights on. It looks good on gold.

Well you can open the screen this way.

It has a small hidden LCD display hidden on the front flip showing the basic information.

The camera interface is simple with one spot auto-focus. Well, I am not sure if it only has one spot or I am not very familiar with the camera.

One simple photo shot with the P905i camera without any retouching.

Japanese designed phones are so attractive. Although I know it is only a Triband phone that I cannot even use the network related services and TV, but it is still very tempting. This P905i 5 mega pixel flip phone has Bluetooth and not as bulky. So tempting.

Good to hear the F905i may appear on there soon.

How about the SO905i?

Will you be doing one of those picture reviews of the N905i as it's the only one of the 905 phones you have not done one for?

Posted by: Super Chimp

Sorry for the double post but I have just noticed the F905i available on Plemix.

Fujitsu F905i Triband Unlocked Phone (SIM Free).

in regards to the Bluetooth on the P905i, it's only for headsets, and not for data transfer.

BTW, I don't know why people are complaining about the length of keitais; if that's an issue for people, don't buy it.[/rant]

@plemix.com

i really want to buy from your website...but i'm in the UK..and shipping seems to be very expensive.

ie. i wanted to get the screen protector for my p905i and the new sony bluetooth headset...but the shipping cost was 18pounds...and i tried adding a gold p905i into the cart..and the shipping worked out to be 2 pounds more

also...does the new sony bluetooth earphones work with the p905i for sure? ie. listening to music and stuff.

There's tons on TaoBao.com for around 10 dollars CAD. However, they require that 1) you can read and write simplified chinese 2)They MIGHT NOT ship outside of china 3) You need to have a china bank account. You can also get them from Ebay there's 1 guy selling it but the price is 39.99 + shipping. All prices are listed in USD. It's just not worth it.

As far as phones are concerned I thought the P & P at Plemix wasn't that bad, I have seen a lot of e bay sellers with a lot higher P & P charges to the UK.
